Yin & Yangtze - China (14 days)

This 14 day extravaganza from On the Go Tours allows you to see a generous selection of China's top hot spots such as Beijing, The Forbidden City, The Great Wall, the Summer Palace, Terracotta Warriors, Nanjing, Suzhou and Shanghai, as well as visiting the Giant Pandas and more. This in itself may be seen as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but throw in the rare opportunity to witness an annular solar eclipse and you have more than you could ever wish for!

The eclipse will be seen on the seventh day, when you are aboard the Yangtze Cruiser. At 6340km in length, the Yangtze River is the third longest river in the world, neatly dividing China into north and south, and wending its way through eight very different provinces. You can sleep in or take a vantage point from the top deck lounger as the cruiser lazily drifts through breathtaking views and stunning scenery until it reaches Mount Ming. From there, you can take a chair lift up to explore the complex of Tao, Buddhist and Confucianism temples, relics and sculptures, making your way towards a 6 story high Fengdu Padoga, which offers 360 degree un-interrupted views of the skyline and the great Yangtze below. It is here that you will witness the fantastic annular eclipse! From $3899 per person, departing 9th January 2010.

On January 15th 2010 an annular solar eclipse will be passing through a narrow corridor of the earth and creating a sight to behold for those in its path.

It will be the longest annular eclipse in the 3rd millennium and it will be visible across Africa, the Indian Ocean, India, Sri Lanka and South East Asia. Once again On the Go Tours will be organising sightseeing and eclipse viewing holidays to these destinations, this year offering six fantastic tours to choose from so you can be sure you don't miss out on witnessing this extraordinary natural phenomenon!
