High Tech Exhibition at Auckland Museum

Auckland Museum will unveil a multisensory exhibition – Wonderland: The Mystery of the Orchid – in its Special Exhibitions Hall on 3 July. Wonderland will use cutting-edge technology, including the latest in multi-touch panels, as well as scent stations, soundscape posts and stereographic 3D goggles, to bring stories of the orchid to life in vivid detail. The Mystery of the Orchid is the first chapter in a two-part exhibition exploring stories of the world’s most popular flowers. The second chapter, Wonderland: The Magic of the Rose, opens in October. French national museums include the Louvre, where adult admission to the permanent collection is 9 euros, and the Musee d'Orsay, which costs €9.50.

Nara, the Capital of Japan from 710 to 784 and a city of magnificent temples, famous for its Great Buddha and Buddhist art treasures, is one of the country's must-see destinations. It is also home to four state-managed museums, admission fees for which have been waived for foreign tourists from 01AUG08. They are the Nara Prefectural Museum of Art, the Nara Prefectural Complex of Manyo's Culture, the Nara Prefectural Museum of Folk Law and The Museum, Nara Prefectural Archaeological Institute of Kashihara. Nara is accessible from Kansai airport by bus and train from Kyoto, Osaka and Nagoya.
