On 3 February 2009, Air France is extending its mobile boarding pass service, where the only paper required to access a plane is a passport or ID card, to all its La Navette shuttle flights to and from Paris-Orly Airport and Marseille, Nice, Toulouse and Bordeaux (the return flight from Bordeaux to Paris-Orly will be available as from 9 February).
Air France launched the new non-stop Paris-Charles de Gaulle – Salt Lake City (Utah) service. The flight is operated by a Delta Air Lines’ Boeing 767-300ER, equipped with 36 seats in BusinessElite and 178 seats in Economy. The flight is operated on a code-share basis by Air France and Delta. In response to the uncertainties in the global economic situation, and in a context of tougher competition, Air France is focusing more on the quality of its capacity increase than the quantity.
The summer schedule of Air France and KLM posts a 4.6% increase in capacity for summer 2008 in terms of available seat-km compared with summer 2007. This breaks down into 5.1% for the long-haul network and 3.2% for short and medium-haul routes.
As is traditional within the construction and roofing professions in particular, Air France has celebrated the successful completion of the highest point of the framework for the first maintenance hangar that will accommodate the airline’s Airbus A380 aircraft which it will begin operating in spring 2009.
For the winter 2007-2008 season, the Air France KLM Group’s seat capacity will grow by 5.2% compared with winter 2006-2007, with a 6.2% increase on the long-haul network and 1.8% on the short and medium-haul network. On the long-haul network, KLM is boosting capacity, mainly to destinations in the Gulf and on the transatlantic routes in cooperation with Northwest, while Air France is pursuing growth in Latin America, Africa and Asia…
