Big Bus arrives in Abu Dhabi

2 December 2009, 9:04 am Useful Information

The Big Bus Company, a family owned company that has operated open-top sightseeing bus tours in London since 1991, has launched services in its newest destination - Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

The new tour offers tourists and residents alike the chance to see Abu Dhabi city as never seen before. The 24-hour ticket provides access to all of the Big Bus tour routes, with 11 stops where guests can hop-on and hop-off at their leisure, allowing visitors complete control of their itinerary.

"We are all very excited about this latest addition to the Big Bus family. Development in Abu Dhabi at the moment is phenomenal as the city works hard to establish itself on the global tourism map," said Chris Crompton, General Manager of Big Bus Tours LLC.

The exciting Big Bus tours take in all of Abu Dhabi's major landmarks, from the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque to traditional souks (markets), and from the luxurious Emirates Palace Hotel to the historic Heritage Village.

Guests receive a personal audio commentary, in a choice of eight languages, providing a fascinating insight into the city's history and culture. Languages available include Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin and Russian.

"Initially we will operate just the one route that takes in all of the sights and attractions of this fascinating city; however, as the city expands onto the neighbouring islands, we will grow with it to make sure that all the new sights of Abu Dhabi are included in the Big Bus tour," said Crompton.

Tours depart daily from Marina Mall, with regular departures between 9am and 5pm. Tickets are available online at www.bigbustours.com, from hotels or at the Big Bus sales desk at Marina Mall.
